I don't think I've seen anyone discuss or debate an interpretation of "conceived" as to how it might relate to the purpose of the elete group of priests called Levites. For example, the Conception at the beginning of Israel as a nation at Sinai established the idea for a cast of priests to be in Levi name. Thus what was "conceived" in Mary was of the Holy Spirit [of God's command per enacted covenant with Levi]. This covenant to be an everlasting covenant and the Levites as a chosen people out of all the tribes of Israel as at/from the beginning.

From my reading, I think the story of how Mary conceived reflects this first conceived idea of priests throughout the generations of Israel unto the days of Mary and Joseph whereof her family connection in Levites perscribes her as the chosen vessel to carry on the priesthood through her son Jesus as her firstborn son. John the Baptist along with Jesus are both positioned to fulfill their obligatory duty as priests (sacrifice of time and effort on behalf of the congregation of Israel). Jesus tells John their purpose: "It has come to us to fulfill all these things." As in the priestly role, John the elder baptises Jesus and they move forward in their ministry (sacrifice) to the Jews.

So what do you think? Should there be another interpretation of "conceived" in Mary to be debated or remain in the supernatural sphere of magik? Did the Gentile church place a literal meaning to the conception in Mary and thus a supernatural event was borne out?

In the story, there seems to be more evidence for a natural human birth than a supernatural magical theme.
