Default Solutions to contradictions?

I have a question and anyone is welcome to join in to answer it.

Why is it wrong for me to pull out a Bible and write new stories and moral lessons into it yet it is not wrong for apologists to conjure up "how-it-could-have-been-scenerios" which they have no proof of occurring or being the case, and demand we atheists accept the said scenerio as truth?

If commands against adding to the Bible forbid actually taking a pen and adding to your hearts content why is the principle any less valid doing so with just your imagination ( mentally masterbating).

Because we aren't changing scripture. We read scripture, and study it in order to understand God's word. We don't sit there and add new books or verses to the scripture. That is forbidden.

Of course. Why wouldn't I be? That Bible speaks of changing or perverting God's word numerous times, and its forbidden.

I've been around here long enough, you know I'm serious about anything related to the Bible.

Sorry Magus, just checking. Life would be measurably less (granted, not substantially less) amusing without your illuminating commentary.

Subtle insults are always my favorite.

It wasn't an insult. It was an appreciation.

Getting laughs out of my beliefs, and considering them basically meaningless is hardly what I call appreciation.

Not what you'd call appreciation, but that's what I call it. See how subjective that is? That's the whole point. You and your eternal truths. Come on man.

But you really are, in a sense. You are making stuff up with your scenerios that are not in the original Bible. To me there is no difference between this and writing something new into the Bible. In both cases you are adding detail to what is written.

Would it be wrong to for me to go around telling people that Jesus taught such and such even though it is not in the print? Since it is possible that Jesus may have said what I am saying he saidyou can't say I am contradicting the word.
