Default Another Example That the Historical Details of the Gospel Are Poetic (= 'Mythical')

Quote:
What he is offering to his true family, children of the Father, is “the blood of the grape cast in the wine press (Origen Comm. Matt 85). Remember that the root word for Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives is to “press” for the extraction of fluids, such as oil or more frequently wine. His life is being squeezed out of him. His seed is being buried and brought back to life. The grape gives its blood in the winepress of the Passion. “For to what else could the body and blood of the Lord refer other than the atoning Word that nourishes and gladdens the heart” (Origen, Comm. Matt. 85). [Thomas C Oden the African Memory of Mark p. 102]
Sure, there really was a place called 'Gethsemane' before Jesus was prepared to give his blood for the sinners of the world ...

Do you think Origen is just making it up as he goes along?

. . . well, if you plan to walk away from 'it' you better leave only the bare naked ego behind so that reason can prevail, I think Joyce would say, who's Gethsemany begins on April 16 on the last page of his Portrait that would put a 'new look on him' on May 1 when New Life begins for him now in a world of his own (as an aside, he is the center of the Universe here just like every ameba would say).

What he means here is that after his words: Old father, old artificer, stand me now and ever in good stead" (Father into your hands I commit my spirit), he goes underground for 3 days to encounter and retain his old 'humanity' as the un-tied or un-created conscience of his faculty of reason that must be raised and tied in his soul by the 'smithy of life' so he could rise again dressed in his own old clothes with a new look on life. That "his mother put in order" for him is something that Augustine would have said to show 'determined cause' wherefore 'his mother' put them 'in order' for him as she is the smithy already since Gen.3:6 (note that this is where he comes full circle on May 1 where Chapter 6 begins for him in his life).

I think it is safe to say that if you vacate the conscious mind and move into the subconscious mind not only must the 'sub- image' be removed from there but also the untied knowledge (or sheep) must be raised and just the faculty to reason itself be left behind in a 'singular mind' where both thinking and dreaming will be a thing of the past (ie. there must be 'two of us' to 'think by day' and 'dream by night,' and so on the Seventh Day when evening 'did not follow' dreaming is no longer possible nor will thinking be possible since when the night is gone (Rev.22:5) so the light of common day will be gone, while yet we still look with our eyes but see only with a singular mind and so just desire is gone).

Oh, I think Origion wanted to be 'sheep rancher' and was just calling sheep to order so he would have a whole flock to mulitiple knowledge.
