When you quote someone, it should be accurate, otherwise don't use quotation marks.

The second part is whether you were kidding (or were you bearing false witness?) when you accused Spam of taking the lord's name in vain.
I used a capital L when I spell out the Lord's name. That comes without thought.

I'm just curious.. when an atheist gets upset, why do they scream out the Lord's name? Are they seeking for help? When was the last time an atheist screamed out "Muhammed dammit!!"? lol

Hate to break the news to you, but theists do not own the language, including common expressions that refer to deities. I have no problem using these expressions. I celebrate the secular version of Christmas too. (ooooh, spooky hypocrisy music playing in the background).
There is no such thing as a secular Christmas, for the simple fact that 'Christmas' in translation means "A Mass for Christ."

I've always wondered why atheists celebrate religious festivals. That's just mind-baffling.

Some atheists tell me "Christmas" was actually originated by the Pagans. And my reply is, why do atheists celebrate a religious holiday that is so deep in religious tradition?

And most importantly, these atheists will condemn the Bible for it's atrocities, but they continue to celebrate pagan rituals, and we know the pagans were known for burning their own children on the stake in the name of the Pagan gods.

A Saudi atheist may very well curse the name of Muhammad or Allah. This has been explained to you over and over again. We are influenced by the culture of Christianity here in the US.

I guess there's no such thing as a secular Thursday either?

Christians have burned many at the stake as well.

A Saudi atheist would be beheaded for cursing Allah or Muhammed. This has been explained to you time and time again. I'm not so sure Saudi atheists express their opinions about Islam like American and European atheists do about Christianity. Islamic nations have zero tolerance towards atheists. They cut off your head and bury you. The President of Iran has called unbelievers the Banner of the Satan figure.

This is an area that has interested me, although your Mohammed reference doesn't exactly make sense. He was a prophet, we don't hear "Isaiah dammit" for example.

What one says has some relationship to what prompts the exclamation. In other words, "shit" and "fuck" are not interchangeable. Similarly, "Jesus Christ" and "Jesus Fucking Christ" are responses to different stimuli.

Once I made a business call to England and the guy said "my goodness" and I remember thinking that if an American would say that, one might think he was gay.

It's simply a geographical/cultural thing...if you lived in the Middle East you might hear that more often than you think.

Oh give me a break. What exactly is Christian about Christmas?

1) Ok, we have CHRIST. I'll give you that one, even though we could also say everything can be attributed to Mithras.
2) Date? Sorry, that has NOTHING to do with Christ and is meant to tie into the winter solstice.
3) Presents? Nope, pagan tradition.
4) Evergreen Tree? Nope, pagan tradition.
5) Holly? Nope, pagan tradition.
6) Yule logs? Nope, pagan tradition.

Want to keep going?

How about Easter? Want to try that instead?

Atheists are blurting out the Lord's name in vain.. and you claim I'm the one not thinking?

It doesn't matter where you were raised, or if your community was mainly Christian.. That doesn't give you any right to use God's name in a slanderous meaning.

No respectable atheist will use God's name in a defamatory manner.

I guess in the mind of an atheist.. God only exists when you want to slander his name.
