Matthew 5 and Matthew 6: Which is Correct?
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 6:1-2 "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. |

This also further evidence of Matthew originally being a collection of quotes which Papias mentioned.

Or maybe the last part is to tell that one should not make the "good deeds" with a personal gain in mind.
