Default Why bother making arguments against most christians?

From another thread I responded to a poster:

So why should we attempt to argue or convince people that are inherently and knowingly irrational and basically won't change because they dont respect reason or dont want to examine themselves at all?

For fun, if you're into the sort of thing (it's become rather boring to me over the years).

Because we're exactly the same way about our own issues. And this is not BCH. Off to GRD.

Hmmm. Why would arguing with Christians be considered "fun?" Is this moral IF the goal of a debate is not just to win, but to perhaps play with (or, have "fun") with a person's emotions/religion?

Why not try outdoor sports instead?

Same reason going to a movie, or playing video games is fun. It amuses us to see some of twisting and turning and hypocrisy you have to display to retain your hate-filled convictions.

There's also a certain amount of enjoyment involved in sharpening our wit against others.

There's also a certain amount of enjoyment involved in refining our arguments and seeing how others attempt to rebut them.

Of course, mostly it's fun to see you froth and foam at the mouth as the cognitive dissonance wreaks havoc within you.

If your religion deserves to be played with, and mocked, then yes, it is moral to mock it and play with it. And, IQ01, before you ask: Yes, your religion does deserve mockery.

How about we do both? Most cultures' thinkers have agreed that it's important to exercise BOTH the intellect and the body. Why don't you try some intellect exercise instead?

So they don't get enough power to put the bible and prayer back in schools, and get rid of evolutionary biology in favor of creationism. You know, small stuff like that.
