hi im new in these forums, i moderate the evolution vs creation room in www.sqlspace.com, and im a militant atheist living in australia.

first off, 'god' did not write the bible. people did, and emperor constantine put it all together, possibly i might add, with a change or 10 here and there, maybe even to the red sea scrolls.

god didnt kill the people of sodom or gomorah, PEOPLE did, deutronomy is just a bloodthirsty general who wanted to justify the evil he had commited, by taking advantage of peoples beliefs.
even now, christians think its ok to kill people, so long as you dont murder them, all cuz of deutronomys chapter.
now christians can goto war without fear of being informed they arent the peaceloving compassionate people they so righteously claim to be.
perhaps not as violent as the muslims who copied the jews torah, but they certainly are more violent than the jews. alot more violent.

want more ideas on how they arent compassionate?
deuteronomy chapter 23
1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

yeah, a devote christian loses his penis in a horrific tractor accident, and his testicles are crushed.
'go away freak the god doesnt like those without a full set of genitals'
what about rape victims for the second passage?
you arent allowed to ABORT rape children if you live in a christian world, so this poor child is condemned for something it cant help.

well done christians, they just keep feeding you propaganda to keep you fearful, and you love it.
you beleive it, and you worship it.
doesnt matter who says it, so long as they say 'god told me so'.

god told me religion has no place in a developing society.
he spoke to me!
he did!
he said tear down the foundations of religion, for thy god is displeased with its hindrance.
god told me so.

thanks for your time

Welcome Don.

Yes, christianity has caused the most destruction and all in defense of a lie because the OT wasn't talking to them.

Default Why did God kill unborn children at Sodom and Gomorrah and Tyre?

Exodus 4:11 says "And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?" Why would a supposedly loving God feel the need to act like that? Paul said that his thorn in the flesh was from the Devil, but he must not have read Exodus 4:11.

Paul probably read Exodus 4:11 since he clearly has read Deuteromony 30, but he did not have to see anything about it to exploit and corrupt.

Here is more of that all loving god. The bible establishes from the outset that god's creation will suffer because of god.

Extreme Ignorance about god? Since god is suppose to all knowing and all powerful in every situation, I would think this should be an obvious understatement with concern to everyone even theologians.

What has been relayed though through the bible is easy enough to understand.

Right, nobody has put him in his place and that is why there are thousands of religions with their own version of a supposed god.

A christian could ask, "Why do people pull weeds in their gardens?"

Weeds can be quite destructive, but they also can be beautiful and beneficial, although, they are mostly unwanted in the garden.

People did not create the weeds, god did.

God made it easily possible for what he believes is evil in this world and he allows situations to get out of control. To a point in which he then finds himself wanting to savagely dispatch his creation. The potter who makes defective pots and then dashes them into pieces against the wall.
