Default Gum, balm, and myrrh and Apple Ipods!

The comment in Carrie's excellent post about the non existence of camel trains and the lack of trade in certain goods made me wonder what other examples there in the Bible of things being mentioned that did not exist at the time?

And Jesus put down his Apple Ipod and said to the richman.....

I'm not sure I understand the question. Could you rephrase keeping in mind the topic of this forum?

I understand that at the alleged time of Joseph going into Egypt camel trains did not exist, nor was there any trade in gum and myrrh.

This is equivalent to finding a comment in the gospels that Jesus was listening to an ipod!

Are there other examples in the Bible that prove something was written later than is believed?

Ah...i see. In other words you are looking for a list of biblical anachronisms. Farrell Till has an interesting article here. If you do a search on bible, anachronism you can probably find tons of stuff. Not to mention searching the SecWeb library.

The round stone allegedly used on Jesus' tomb is considered anachronistic, since round stones were rare before 70 CE; in addition, Jesus being criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating is considered to be anachronistic, since this only became a requirement later.
