gods omniscientness
can anyone give me some passages from the bible that can be interpreted as God not being omniscient or omnipotent. passages such as Genisis 22.
12 "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." |

Well, there's...
Gen. 18:20 'Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know"'...and the whole pleading bit God humors Abe with. Judges 1:17 'Then the men of Judah went with the Simeonites their brothers and attacked the Canaanites living in Zephath, and they totally destroyed [3] the city. Therefore it was called Hormah. [4] 18 The men of Judah also took [5] Gaza, Ashkelon and Ekron-each city with its territory. 19 The LORD was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had iron chariots.' ...so even with God, with whom all things are possible, on your side, iron chariots prove insurmountable. Neat! [these are not iron-clad, of course, and I imagine better ones exist] |
