Default Why do atheists discount the bible?

A very simple question with a very simple answer. Let me explain it in this way. You Christian folk claim the bible is the direct word of god. Well I just wrote this on a piece of paper "And so the great Lord of Cheese descended from the heavens and all of the seven seas turned to molten mozerella. So was the coming of the end of the world". Now how do you know a god didn't just make me write it? Do you see what I'm trying to say?

Besides the fact that is has around 420 contradictions, that it was written at a time when people had practically no knowledge of real-world science, that it promotes hatred and violence, that it's basically just a very poorly-written book of bedtime stories...

Gee, I don't know.

As soon as I got to plants existing before sunlight, I shut the book. A Song of Ice and Fire is much better fantasy, has fewer contradictions and more engaging characters... they're probably about equal in sex and violence though.

I'm discounting it because there's too many around and they aren't moving well.
