The 10 Commandments and slavery
The 10th commandment of Exodus 20:17 prohibits, among other things, the coveting of a neighbors manservant and maidservant. Of course, the same words translated as manservant and maidservant, 'ebed, and 'amah, are translated elsewhere as "slave" and "concubine". Exodus 21 goes on to spell out regulations on the treatment of slaves and concubines, demonstrating that this is the clear context of these words in the 10th commandment.
Why has this point not been brought to light in the various 10 Commandments display controversies? |

Why? Maybe because all of the Christians would start screaming about how you hate God, since they have no good arguments.
