Default Off topic comment, trash talk, boasts, challenges, etc. split fr Jesus Myth v. Majorit

excellent point, achristianbeliever.

And ~M~, I think you're using a good rough rule of thumb for determining whether something is reasonable to believe--is it accepted by the academic experts in that field?

When the JM'ers manage to get a body of work published in the scholarly journals of historical inquiry, then I'll take them more seriously. Until then, I put them in the same camp as ID proponents and other creationists.

LOL. Thanks Gooch. I'll be happy to roast [you] in open debate any day on the topic of the HJ.

Yes, Michael. Bully the uninformed. But then again, you get your [...] handed to you by the real heavy weights, you Greekless parallelomaniac.

Chris...uh...are you saying you wouldn't mind debating Vork on the subject?

Sadly, if only I had the time. Peter, you of all people should know how hectic my schedule is.

BTW - I found a graphic artist, and I already went over the basics with her. Things are looking up for this, ω φιλε.

Ps - I never considered myself an "heavyweight". Ask Vork if he'll debate John P. Meier.

Chris, I have to say that you are the most immature person on these forums. You remind me of when I was younger, when I went to a music school. I played the guitar, I knew quite a bit for an 18 year old. My fingers were 2 times faster than any of my teachers or fellow students, and, I was a cocky, stuck up kid who thought he knew everything and thought that everyone sucked and knew nothing.
How I wish I could go back in time to learn what everyone else knew, you know, how to play (and write) jazz, blues, classical. How to form endless chords and progressions and how to improvise.
But because I was better than everyone else, I didn't learn anything.

No, mister Weimer, you are the same, stuck up little man that I was. And for your sake, I hope you grow up, 'cause frankly you add NOTHING (as far as I'm concerned--because of your attitude and lack of subtleness) to the this subject. And until you learn to take your knowledge and present it in a mature, informative way, you're learnings are in vain.
I don't care how much Greek you know. Your level of discourse throws it all away. You need to grow up, and fast. That is, if you want to be someone or add something in this field.

Spanky - I long ago realized that discourse won't get me any where. I mean, what do you expect when Vork says that he would hand Gooch his [...]? How the FUCK do you respond to that?

Talk about a double standard.

I don't come here to ejoomuhkayte you folks. I come now to keep these biased folks in check by exposing their prejudices, and keeping them in line. If you want scholarly discourse, I'd be more than willing to engage you. As I said earlier (which you conveniently clipped out to support your own position - how thoughtful of you), I don't claim to be a big shot, I don't claim to be one of the top dawgs, I don't claim flawless Greek, heck, even my Latin is not perfect. I don't claim to know it all - but I sure as hell don't come here to see those who have a chip on their shoulders against Christianity abuse the very historical methods I've grown to love. It actually pains me to see a forum where fundies on both spectrum can come to hash it out, and poor guys like Peter Kirby get it from all angles because he says he's on a journey. Do you even know how much shit he got for "converting"? It's sickening. And then you all have the gall to be ignorant and stay ignorant and claim that you're the successors to the great scientists of the nineteenth centuries who overthrew the claws of creationism by championing evolution, when those great scientists were themselves at first part of the establishment, and have remained so ever since? All I hear from Toto and co. is things like "Jesus historicism is like Intelligent Design". Jesus Mythicism was first hypothesized centuries ago - it didn't take Darwinian evolutionism that long to catch a foothold. Yet even today, the only supporters are those without credentials, those without proper training, and those on the very fringe, refusing to engage in proper scholarship within the establishment.

That's immaturity.

Good day.

PS - And Spanky, what have you done? In my last thread, you did nothing but ridicule and make a joke of a serious inquiry. You are the worst of the hypocrites if you dare level the charge of immaturity.
