Default A-Team :: The Movie

I just heard some (maybe) exciting news. It seems there's a feature length A-Team movie in the pipeline.

I'm kinda looking forward to it because The A-Team used to be my favourite show on T.V. when I was a little 'un.

The only problem I have is this: Thy're going to have to find alternative actors for most of the characters because many of the original cast are doddering old geezers nowadays. This could work O.K., except, and here's the kicker, they're no even planning to use Mr. T for the role of B.A. Barracus!! Instead, it's rumoured that Mike Tyson might play the part. SACRILEDGE, I say!

Man, I pitty the crazy fool who don't think Mr. T's still up to the task.

Ah, the A-Team, I used to love that show. These words bring a nostalgic tear to my eye:

"In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team."

Yeah, balls-out, no-brainer action! Great stuff!

Man, I used to have such a crush on Dirk Benedict. Then I grew up and suddenly George Peppard looked much better.

Or dead, as is George Peppard.

Where did you hear this--do you have any kind of link? I ask because I've run into rumors about an A-Team feature for several years ("Jim Carey as Murdock!" "Ving Rhames as B.A.!"), and they've never amounted to anything substantial.

Wow. Those are the first two actors for those roles that came to mind when I read the OP.

This may be the dumbest idea for a movie I have ever heard of. The A-Team was a moronic TV show and would so much fluff and bad 80's nostalgia that the isles of every theater in the land would run with vomit if this project should ever be completed.

Hell, they were still hiring Arnie for movies right up until his little political move, why the hell not Mr T?
Anyone seen a recent picture of him? He still looks helluva tough, sucka, and that's after he kicked cancer's arse.
I don't think anyone would really give a shit who plays the other guys, but A-team without T would just be so wrong on so many levels.

But yeah, I've been hearing this rumour for a couple of years now, plus there's absolutely nothing about it at imdb, so I'm very sceptical.

Mr T is doing a commercials for a check cashing chain here in the NW. He still looks like Mr T but you can tell he is getting old. He also did a series of Christian movies that went straight to video. I think they were from the Left Behind series.
