Default Kersey Graves's Sources?

Has anyone had any success in tracking down any of the sources for his book, The Sixteen Crucified Saviors?

I've thought a bit about it, and I have a speculation: that he was working from missionaries' tracts that attempted to prove that Jesus Christ had been mentioned in other religions. Thus all those crucifixions.

Your speculation was speculated by hinduwoman at the end of this thread: 16 Crucified Pre-Christian Deities, but she never came up with an exact reference.

I think the place to look is not the Christian Missionaries tracts but the writings of late 19th early 20th Century Spiritualism movement that was all the vogue in England

Acharya S claims to be in the process of validating Graves assertions.

She has written a new introduction to Graves' book, available from Amazon. Unfortunately, there are no sample pages available.

FROM the Infidels (Atheist) network:
http://www.infidels.org/library/hist...16/index.shtml

Note: the scholarship of Kersey Graves has been questioned by numerous theists and nontheists alike; the inclusion of his The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors in the Secular Web's Historical Library does not constitute endorsement by Internet Infidels, Inc. This document was included for historical purposes; readers should be extremely cautious in trusting anything in this book.

A critique from Richard Carrier here:

Propaganda and falsities can come from any side!

Best regards, Bernard
