I did a quick check for some lunar and solar events related to Jesus' appearance and time of baptism that might be of trial interest. This information comes from the REDSHIFT-5 astronomy program that I have.

JESUS' BIRTH: Presuming Jesus fulfills the 8th day of the Festival of booths, which is a special sabbath day, by his circumcision on his 8th day of life, we can determine when he was born:

Lev 23: 33 "And Jehovah continued to speak to Moses, saying: 34 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the festival of booths for seven days to Jehovah. 35 On the first day is a holy convention. No sort of laborious work may YOU do. 36 Seven days YOU should present an offering made by fire to Jehovah. On the eighth day there should occur a holy convention for YOU, and YOU must present an offering made by fire to Jehovah. It is a solemn assembly. No sort of laborious work may YOU do. "

Male infants were to be circumcised on the 8th day:

Genesis 17:12 "And every male of YOURS eight days old must be circumcised, according to your generations, anyone born in the house and anyone purchased with money from any foreigner who is not from your seed."

So, if it is presumed that Jesus' circumcision was carried out on the 8th day to fulfill the 8th day of the Festival of Booths, then we can calculate by the lunar phase for that year just when the festival began and thus can determine Jesus' potential birthdate, thanks to astronomical programs.

Jesus was born in 2 BCE and the FULL MOON occurred on September 13th. If the first day of the festival began on the 14th then that would have been the day Jesus was born.

AGE AT TIME OF BAPTISM: Jesus was baptized 40 days prior to the beginning of his ministry. If his ministry began on the last day of the festival of booths, which is the date of the 3rd quarter moon, then he obviously was 39 years of age when he was baptized, almost ("as if") 30. So he would have been baptized around August 10th. That is, the 8th day of the Festival of booths occurs at the time of the 3rd quarter of the moon. If Jesus was baptized 40 days earlier than this, then that would mean 9-10 days before the 3rd quarter of the moon the month before, which occurred on August 18th.

PRECISION OF ARRIVAL, BEGINNING OF MINISTRY: Jesus' baptism is often used to date his "arrival" but technically the beginning of his ministry would represent when his official appearance was. If that was on the last day of the Festival of Booths then we can compare the precise timing for that date with the lunar alignments for 455BCE, which is when the 70 weeks starts. Jesus fulfills the FESTIVAL OF BOOTHS in that he is born in a booth and then placed in a manger. Thus the festival signifies that Jesus would not be born in a house.

The last quarter moon in 29 CE falls on September 19th and in 455BCE falls on September 18th.


ANNUNCIATION: The "annunciation" is the term given for when the spirit of Christ became human form, the time when holy spirit fell upon Mary and she became pregnant. Obviously, if Jesus was born in the fall, 9 months earlier would have meant the annunciation must have occurred in the winter. So it would be interesting to check when the FULL MOON 9 months earlier occurred in December, 3 BCE.

In 3 BCE the Full Moon occurs on the 21st of December. The winter solstice occurs on the 23rd.

In 1992, the winter soltice occurs on the 21st, and a partial eclipse of the sun occurs on the 24th, just after midnight in London, centered over the mid north pacific, magnitude 0.8457.

Not such a critical comparison as far as the planets go.
