Some such thing also is indicated by the sixth hour in the scheme of salvation, in which man was perfected." [Stromata vi.16]
compare Irenaeus says that the Marcosians take great interest in the sixth letter

Quote:
and for this reason (he maintains) that Moses says that man was created on the sixth day. And (he asserts) that the dispensation of suffering (took place) on the sixth day, which is the preparation; (and so it was) that on this (day) appeared the last man for the regeneration of the first man. And that the beginning and end of this dispensation is the sixth hour, at which He was nailed to the (accursed) tree." [Philosoph v:42]
Clement also speaks of three abodes in heaven. These three abodes are linked with the numbers thirty, sixty and one hundred.83 Another passage may be connected with the preceding; in Str. vi 107,2, Clement relates the ranks in heaven with the dignities of the church below - “the advancements (προκοπαί) pertaining to the Church here below, namely those of bishops, presbyters and deacons, are imitations (μιμήματα) of the angelic glory.”
It always seems to come back to this shit. Next, Sacraments and the Reserved Host.

Back to the original thread, eh.

It's like you size up a woman at a bar and she turns out to be different than you expect or this restaurant near my house:

The 'pizza' part of the sign is difficult to read high up on a sign so I thought I could get souvlaki and was disappointed.
What is the amount of time an ordinary man should remain alive after being crucified?

The nominal cause of death from crucifixion is suffocation after the legs can no longer support the body weight and the chest muscles pull so tight across the ribs, the lungs can no longer expand. Once a person is unconscious, death would come quickly. A person could be in shock from pain and blood loss before actually being suspended.

It's an interesting question, but it doesn't seem to have any significance.

Pilate witnessed the flogging and was "surprised" at the sudden death. It could't have been that bad. Scourging is part of the ancient baptism rite (symbolically). It wasn't a gore fest. That's Catholic

Origen's testimony is critical. The "death" was in appearance only

I am convinced that Pilate was the local Inquisitor and Herod was the Senator of State, and that crucifixion was their best effort to keep Gelilean charismatics under control who were 'working' the Jews like Billy Graham did Catholics as latter day saint (small s, just so you know).

Then if you consider that he shepherd/sheep image meant something to them it would follow that 'freedom of religion' was not their own choice and indeed Herod had something to say. So it was Herod's idea that the Inquisitor be appointed and crucifixion was done as favor to them so they may have new life sooner (which in the end is the best thing to do as they volunteered to 'get done').

So I do believe in the historical event taking place, but that was allegory in the Gospels to make that difference know, which is obvious since the Jews knew exactly how it was supposed to be done; yes, also in Matthew and Mark that are just opposite to the way it was supposed to be done and therefore 'compliment' each other and not 'contradict.'

The only historic evidence I can relate to is from the legend that 'storks bring babies' slung in the swaddling cloth that was missing in Matthew, which I think goes back to those days since nobody would have claimed the bodies of those who so died.

The 3, 6 and 9 make reference to the three Churches that Catholicism knows wherein from birth to 6 we are Adamic in nature serving the lesser serpent facing down from the TOK to drive us by way of desire. This is called the Church Millitant during the Involutionary Yang period of life.

Then at 6 the turmoil at the bottom of Yang comes to an end, where 'light-blue' in the tip of the teardrop of Yang that we saw when we first opened our eyes becomes darker and darker to even black as the light of common day loses it's charm. This so is where the end of the world is brought about . . . if and only if we remain true to the 'ligth' blue that guided us yonder, and there meet Her, dressed in white with just a shade of blue so we will recognize her to bring Yang to an end.

From there the infancy of Yin begins wherein she will lead us as if by the nose on towards 9, now with our eyes shut and thus intuition with no religion to lean on. It is called the Church Suffering and its color is red from deep dark to golden with no blood shed at the 9, and on to the Church Triumphant we go where the color of life is golden until the second death do us part.

Baptism is to initiate as Junior in the first, and flogging is done to the senior on the way out at the 4th so the 5th may be his . . . either that or the stork can get at him sooner and so it belongs.
