Default Introducing BibleGod.org

So here's a site similar to Skeptic's Annotated Bible, only more to the point and less intended to be a "complete reference".

A big advantage is that it has bible quotes in over 30 languages. The interface, however, hasn't been translated, and it would be great if you could volunteer to do certain languages. There aren't many words which need to be translated, for each language, but it would be good if the translators were skilled enough to choose strong words. Just reply if interested in helping, and please mention the language. I'll send you the translation file at a later time.

Christian Bible God/Jesus Truth

Oh and linking to it wouldn't hurt either .

Is that about human sacrifice? Isn't it about priests or some form of contract with god?

In a sense. It's symbolic. You offer your son, but then you get to buy some animal and kill it instead.

Ah! Substitutionary atonement!

I am going to bug everyone about ritual and violence again, let's look at the morality of this.

A priest says there is a law that I must sacrifice my oldest son to god.

There are other tales - Abraham and Isaac backing this up.

Am I not being told to commit murder?

But at the last minute I am told a lamb will do (The valuable one without blemish. The priest can eat that -might be issues about cannibalism!)

What is the morality here? Extortion, persuasion to commit murder?

And I am going to the biggy sacrifice of Christ here? Are we not accessories to murder if we state it has some substitutionary effect - we have benefitted from it?

What difference does it make if it is ritualised and symbolic? Is it still not an agreement with an act of murder? This is very similar to initiation rites in gangs. You get someone to do something wrong and then they are tied in to the gang.

Yes, I know there are differences. It just seems a waste since they're almost identical, especially with biblical vocabulary. It's not as though I can't understand British English.

Actually the main difference is that of bibles used: ASV and KJV respectively.
