New blog
This is a shameless plug for my own blog. It is extremely new so there will probably be some changes over the next few weeks. It is dedicated mostly to textucal criticism and computer programming as it relates to the field of biblical studies in general and textual criticism in particular. I know that there are a few people here who have an interest in that stuff.
The blog is here: http://www.julian.textcrit.com/ I would appreciate some feedback on format and anything else that might need improvement. Julian |

Besides web programming applied to Greek texts, it will also talk about my soon-to-be-released (I hope) project (Under construction at www.textcrit.com but nothing to see yet), an overly ambitious online NT study and analysis program. I got mad when I saw the price of BibleWorks and decided to do something similar except free and online. That project sort of started this whole blog thing. I am learning a great deal and thought that sharing it might be worthwhile.

The blog looks great. I see you covered some of the same ground in your first post that you helped me with recently; if you visit some of the pages on my site you will see that I am very nearly ready to start implementing the font customization scheme you laid out for me. Thanks for the pointer to your blog, and for the pointers in general! Ben. |

Next installment will probably be on server-side CGI Unicode manipulation, something which gave me (more) grey hairs. Although, I might just slip in a rant about the various NT programs on the web. They are massively pathetic and SBL gushes all over them like they are the second coming. I am waiting to write it, though, until I come up with a way whereby I can critize something and not be all mean about it. Actually, this made me think of something which I will ask in the post following this one. Julian |

If you could have a program on the web dealing with the Greek NT, what features would you want? Pretend there are no limits (except realistic limitations of modern technology) and just list what you would want to see. I have a long list of things I want to implement (many are already implemented) but it is very likely that I have overlooked something.
