Adam & Eve had two options. Right and wrong. Satan fooled them into believing wrong was right. And the rest is history. If we obey the words of Satan, we will surely die. No life after death? Earthly life? It can be taken into several different meanings.

The point of the ADAM & EVE story is, do not obey Satan because he will decieve you, and you will die.
Satan was a later addition to the story, retrofitting the snake (possibly Set originally, or maybe Nehusthan (sp?), the Canaanite deity symbolized as a snake) into later beliefs (the whole God vs Satan twist on early beliefs).

Considering the Tree that they ate the fruit of was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, how were they supposed to know Right from Wrong? All they knew was that big scary guy said this, snake said this - without the knowledge of what was good and bad, they could not distinguish either. How can they be blamed for making a choice that was not a choice. They didn't even know it was wrong to not just follow orders and obey YHVH without question (according to the myth, many here would disagree with this). But, the (now) omniscient deity did not forsee this? And not only that, since Satan must have pulled the wool of God's eyes, but God was so pissed that he cursed every living thing, for something they did not do.

With logic like this, I guess I can kill my neighbor for something his 11th century ancestor did.

He's sounds pretty cool to me. If you do him right, he will do you right. If you slander him, he will slander you.

You are pretty much in a no win situation whether you believe in Him or not.
How can you know this?

Show me with reasonable proof that God communicates thru a book- and that the bible is that book.

Maybe there is a God who intends to 'save' all the skeptics who have kept an open mind and not fallen for man-made theologies?

You say, but Genesis doesn't.

Revelation is irrelevant to Genesis.

BTW, how was Eve liable if she had no knowledge of good and evil?

In other words, such knowledge is why we try not to execute toddlers for criminal behavior.

Why does God hate the children?
If you go back into the OT, you can find passages where YHVH says that the first born of everything (that includes people) will be dedicated to him (ie, sacrificed) - the final plague in Exodus might reflect this type of sacrifice. So, YHVH, like his priests, often has a "fondness" for little kids.

Well, there you have it folks. The Bible from Genesis through Revelation was written by Satan. There it is as clear as day right there in the Bible.
and that, my friends IS the mystery that was hidden for long ages past...
Somebody call Dan Brown....

Bullshit.

It is easy to be all courageous sounding when you live in a country with freedom of religion.

:rolling: Yeah, I say the God you imagine is fiction; therefore you think your imaginary God is going to send me off to eternal torture (not something we do to our worst of criminals). What a cool master of Auschwitz. Quite the fairy tale, right up there with a Steven King tale.

Stephen King would have a way cooler ending - Revelations is a pretty ate up LSD trip. The only thing worse than that is reading the Left Behind series.

The Bible was spoken in mostly in Hebrew. Jesus often spoke Hebrew. The word used was "Sin'ah". Greek translation, "Miseo". English translation, "Hate". So, you tell me. Was that verse mistranslated by modern copyists? This is your little Bible Trivia for today.

The original word was Hebrew. And Jesus used the word "Sin'ah" meaning; "To love lesser than".

The Greek translation used the word, "Miseo". Meaning "Hatred or to detest".

The English translation uses the word. "Hate". "Hatred or to detest".

Why did modern copyists take away the actual meaning of Jesus' words???

I can see why some people turn atheist. seriously.
Why would God allow his holy word to be so seriously mistranslated and the mistranslation to stand as the sanctioned English version for generations of English-Language readers to be misled by?

God commanded his people conquer neighboring nations. The Jews didn't have many people, their army was miniscule, but they still managed to defeat these large nations. That in itself should be proof that God protects Israel.

I doubt that. Jehovah said there are no other gods but me!

The conquests of Joshua are fiction. Jews never conquered Canaan, Jews were always native Canaanites.
