Default New Testament with Notes on Manuscripts?

I'd love to find a New Testament with notes on the variations in manuscripts. It'd be even better if it had detailed analysis of the different currents of textual criticism as they relate to each passage.

Does anyone know of a such a Bible?

Thanks in advance.

Nestle-Aland 27 is the most up to date, but I own the Deutsch Bibelgesellschaft/United Bible Societies GNT 4.0.

There's also a Vulgate, Coptic, and Syriac critical text.

If you read Greek there are numerous such New Testaments
Nestle-Aland is the most popular see http://www.skypoint.com/members/walt...iticalEds.html for more information.

There are also online sources eg Wieland Wilker's http://www-user.uni-bremen.de/~wie/ww_tc.html

What you are after is what is called a "critical edition" of the original text. These exist for all sorts of ancient works. They always print the Greek, with a set of notes at the bottom of each page on significant variants. (NB: 'critical' in this context does not mean 'slagging off' but the older meaning of 'considered in a scholarly way'). Often they have a translation as well.

For the Greek NT, Nestle-Aland is the edition of choice (this has no translation).

Such a commentary would sometimes be appended to a critical edition of a patristic text, but the volume of chattering about the NT probably makes this impracticable.

All the best,

Thanks to all who've replied.

I don't yet read Greek, so English translations are a necessity. Can you recommend a good critical edition that has English text?

Best wishes!

Do not the NEB and Jerusalem Bible at least pick up on the main issues?

I doubt it exists.

A half-way house would be an inter-linear NT, and a copy of Nestle-Aland. The former could then be used as a crib to the latter.
