interesting, my belief is that christianity was a creation of romans, the jews were very important to the roman economy, because of the presence of jews from persia to europe, and because trade from the orient largely came through roman judea or roman arabia, and add to that the jews were clannish, they more or less dominated trade from the east to the west. the jews were restless, always talking about their messiah, new messiahs were always springing up causing roman elites no end of headaches. so they created a messiah that had already come and died, and what did he preach ? submission to authority, your kingdom shall be in heaven, turn the other cheek, etc. http://www.fargonasphere.com/piso/ http://www.truthbeknown.com/christcon.htm the truth is that all so called proof of the historical accuracy of jesus is extremely questionable at best, clearly it has been shown by scholars like Maccoby that the earliest texts of the new testament show a lack of knowledge of judaism, the writers were not jews. other ideas of jesus in the nag hammadi scrolls for example are also shown to either be refering to someone else or again based on the mythos of christ having been compiled from oral tradition and after the events they purport to describe. it is a simple logic to follow that if the law of the land is god's law, then those in power are Gods' chosen, the problem comes when you have many lands, many laws, contradictory laws, laws that change based on personalities, economics, etc, is God's law eternal or a changing thing based on human whim ? did god create something like a plant, then to outlaw it ? that is illogical, if they want to arrest Drug pushers, why don't they arrest God, He is the main supplier. |
