Default Paul (or Peter)'s Disease

I'm not sure which Prophet, but it was either Paul or Peter who had a disease. Anyways, anyone wonder what the disease was, or who had it?

I believe it was Paul who said he had some kind of "affliction" that he had prayed to God to remove but God saw fit not to. This is the one that many people - though I don't know the reasoning for it - have assumed to be homosexuality.

Homosexuality was posited, as was epilepsy (seeing any gods lately?). But neither Peter nor Paul were "prophets" but "apostles".

Hm, what would be the difference? A prophet announces something that will happen in the future while an apostle announces something that has already happened?

The prophets refer to the several people in the Hebrew Bible who warned Jerusalem of their impending doom if they continued in iniquity. The apostles were those who were "sent out" to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Cor 12:7-10 - Paul refers to his "thorn in the flesh", which some modern translations render as "a handicap" or "a painful physical ailment".
