Default Syrian prophecies?

With the current breaking news going on with the Hezzbollah missle attacks on Israel, and many saying Syria and Iran may be behind it, it's hard not to see a huge coincidence in the making.

I'm not trying to start a huge prophetic, oh the end times are near thread, but honestly even if I weren't religious, I'd have a hard time looking at prophecies like Isaiah 17 as pure coincidence if Syria gets in the fight with Israel.

If this trend continues and Damascus gets destroy by attacks, would you all attribute it to pure coincidence? Or would you claim Israel and the U.S. blew up Damascus on purpose to fullfill Biblical prophecy ( talk about your conspiracy theory)?

How would men 5000 years ago be able to write anything even resembling the conflict we've seen in the middle East?

How many times will Isaiah 17 be fulfilled? This is weird, everytime a
conflict arises between Israel and Syria, the same prophecies are used over and over, again and again. This is pathetic

The prophecy hasn't been fullfilled yet since Damascus hasn't been turned into ruins.

Well why don't you think its the prophecy in Isaiah 7, maybe the Messiah is coming. Remember He said, 'I will be back'. But, then again, this may be the real Messiah, the One the Jews are looking for. The prophecies in the Bible have redundancies. Isaiah7:14, 'Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall his name Immanuel'.

Apparently, the prophecy was fulfilled a little over 2700 years ago.

Can you explain why you think Isaiah 17 has anything to do with current events?

Yawn.

I remember people saying the same thing during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. They were wrong then as well.

1. 2700 years (more or less) ago.

2. How? By looking all around them at their contemporary political issues and assuming they would continue into the future. What is now, will also be later on. Not exactly a huge leap of faith.
