"circle" = chuwg

1) circle, circuit, compass
2) (BDB) vault (of the heavens)

All of the examples in #1 are flat circles rather than spheres and #2 is clearly a problem for you.

Sphere could easily represent by circle at that time.
No, it doesn't. How far are east and west from each other on a sphere?

East and west are only far apart on a flat plain. They are part of a single continuum on a sphere.

In sphere we may find west as it goes may reach east in a face of the sphere.

Bong, your profile states that your basic belief is:
Faith is useless if it didn't use

use what? What's the rest of that sentence?

I think the compass you're referring to is the magnetic one. it's nothing requiring supernatural sponsors to notice that magnets always point to the same direction.

The 'compass of the earth,' though, refers to the device for drawing circles on a sheet of paper. Ever play with compasses in Geometry? Either way, this is still a reference to a flat surface.

How the first magnetic compass discover?
I have no idea what you mean here.
Due to translation,more exageration of the Author,about hang.
Huh?

Frankly, i think you mislabled this thread. It's not the Bible where the Truth can be found. it's in the reader. You know that your planet is a sphere, and you want the Books to be perfect, so you find sphere in the text. Not hard, as long as you ignore or shift problematic verses to spiritual, metaphor, synonys [sic] or poetic references.
But the thread should be titled: Biblical Non-literalists can shoehorn truth into ancient passages

You first say north is heaven,and it means south is below the earth.So you mean winds moves downward to earth?
6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.

Don't recall. But it's an experiment kids can perform in grade school without invoking a deity, so i don't really think you can support a claim that it took God to teach Man the science.

I said that in that passage, north was in the direction of the Northern Star. Not that North always referred to the sky. And i said nothing about the South.

Are you implying that a global flood would have wiped out coral reefs? A violent storm system could certainly damage a coral reef system, but being covered by water isn't really a problem for them so long as sunlight can still reach them.

The cited website fails to understand that no lifeform's population can exceed it's available food supply. The human population has always been governed by the amount of food available. As human population density increases, the rate of population growth slows.

In other words..

The above formula readily shows the absurdity of evolutionary time scales for mankind. In one million years, if n = 23,256 generations, C = 1.25, and x = 3, the present population of the world would be

P = 3.7 x 102091 persons.

In contrast the total number of electrons in the universe is only 1090!
is plain stupidity. Is it really necessary for us to point out that the food supply problem here?

How they knows that if compass pointing to north direction its a north.
Discovering it,needs knowledge.

You say ,
Quote:
The 'north' in this verse is the sky. The dome over the flat earth spread as a mud pie across the water below, keeping the waters above out of our living space. Kind of an inside-out snowglobe.
The dome stretches up and hangs upon nothing, floating in the chaos of water, water, everywhere.

Condition of weather aor climate makes growth gap.Ring slow formation or fast formation.

YEs,turbulent sea,covered by mud flow.

Nope. For navigation purposes, alll they need is a reference. A direction you can depend on no matter how twisted around you get on the sea or in the desert.
As more science builds upon further discoveries, we figure out how the ancient observations fit into modern theory. Still no skybeast in the mix.

Now, have you had a chance to compare Egyptian and Hebrew Flood myths?

Yep. North "IN THIS VERSE" is in the sky.
Nothing about the south.
What's the problem?
