Default The social class and education of Jesus

Assuming for the purposes of argument that he wasn't a character in a play or a mythological beastie what level and type of class and education can we work out for this character from the various stories about him?

Is there a coherent picture in there? What influences might there be? Are there contradictions?

Or does it fit another pattern - say that of the hero?

What pieces do we have?

How good a Jewish religious education? What sects?

Cynic, Buddhist, Zarathustran, Roman, Greek (Egyptian as a sub set or separate?) influences.

Is it agreed he could read and write? What percentage of the population could then, what does that say about his social status and education?

A wealthy powerful family background?
