If its a book children read, that is very bad. Reading anything besides the bible takes them away from God. Independent thought and creativity must be stamped out.

What I am curious about is do any of their kids have an interest in reading? My guess unless its a Fox News banner it is probably discouraged.

I wouldn't say HP is evil, per se. But I wouldn't tell anyone to watch it.

Here's my view

Harry Potter is overrated. Like a screw that's rusty and bent, but everyone says 'Look at that screw' and they use it to screw things, and people become obsessed with screwing things, and people buy screwable materials like wood, and they say 'I've good wood, now I can screw' until everybody screws and everything is screwed, but the only reason they're always screwing is because the screw's old and bent so it can't screw properly, so people keep trying, but they won't blame the screw, so they lubricate the things being screwed until you just wish Ben Affleck was dead!

I have never read Harry Potter, nor have I seen any of the movies. I am just not interested in fantasy type stories. Its not my bag. However if there are books that kids are lining up to read, that is a good thing and should be encouraged. Kids who read are a hell of lot lot less likely to engage in anti social behavior and its a damn good habit to encourage especially in a video age where many people don't read.

To rail against Harry Potter and not offer a viable substitute (as some on the right do) is foolhardy.
