Richard Carrier: Speaking Engagements
I will be giving my talk "Miracles and the Historical Method" for the New York City Atheists this February 26 (Thursday evening), which will discuss a complete "tool kit" for evaluating historical claims and apply it to various miracle reports in history, from Roman sorcery to Old Testament prophecy. The event is open to the public. Details at: nyc-atheists.org.
I will be giving my talk "Why I Don't Buy the Resurrection Story" for the San Francisco Atheists this April 24 (Saturday evening), which will be updated from the online version--among other things, I will give a sneak peak at my work in the forthcoming Prometheus anthology Jesus Is Dead. The event is open to the public. Probably a month before that date, the details will be posted at: www.sfatheists.com/cal.htm. Also, just a heads up: I have been asked, but not confirmed, to talk at an event in Los Angeles in mid-April, and to join a debate in Michigan in early May. Details will be posted when the engagements are confirmed. |

Looks like I may actually be able to attend the April speech. I'm hoping that the SF Atheists will give directions to where the speech will be; I wasn't able to find any directions at their site.
And I wonder if Richard Carrier will be mentioning St. Genevieve Or the numerous miracles Mother Teresa has failed to perform, like siccing a pack of stray dogs on some little children who teased her about looking like a wrinkled old hag. |

Good luck with the bag business by the way Richard. Gucci may get most of the headlines, but I much prefer yours.
