Default Christ, the original David Blaine?

A thought came across during a little talk my cousin Cosmik Debris and I were having.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Jesus Christ was nothing more than an illusionist. He was able to make it appear that he walked on water, or turned water into wine, because of some slight of hand, or props. Maybe the lepers he "healed" were nothing more than actors that were part of his "entourage". Then of course, his story gets blown completely out of proportion and out of context.

Just something I had to dump out of my brain.

Actually, this was very popular among Rationalists of the 19th century (explaining walking on water as a non-miraculous event, etc.).

best,
