He would tell you . . . but then he would have to crush your mind.

Obviously, Daleks never met a Vorlon . . . or Star Fleet Command. . . .

Similar to the discussions on the Flood Myth, why does anyone need the Cain stories to be literal?

Possibly not, Dr. X, possibly not. After all, everyone now, including Xtians, are quick to dismiss ancient Roman, Greek, Norse, Egyptian and other gods as myths that were not real.
Why is the 'god' of the bible any different? The bible is also merely tall tales, probably campfire tales in the early days.
But tales nonetheless.

Like this idiot Boykin, who says he knows his god is a real god, while the Muslim god is false.

They're both the same, and they're both merely written down in books. Neither version is real.

Radcliffe:

Finally . . . what was it, seven tries? It only took me once to realize Magus was not Magnus!

Anyways, even the contemporary Greeks and Romans did not take their gods seriously as current worshippers do theirs. Greek and Roman gods were not moral examples--they were very "human" in their motivations.

Similarly, the Canaanite, Babylonian, Summerian, et cetera, share these same qualities. YHWH/El/Elohim of the OT shares the same aspects--he is someone you have to appease. He can get angry then regret it.

Not until some time when the conception of a "universal" deity arose that was an example to follow does it seem we have to have a "good god."

Agreed with you on Boykin--current followers cannot accept the source of their deities. Too bad, in a way, we cannot have the "old way" of dealing with this and pit Allah against YHWH--LIVE!! On WWF SMACKDOWN Pay-per-View!
