Default Ceasar's Messiah

Last night I came across a new book by Joseph Atwil, called Ceasar's Messiah, wherein the author claims that the gospels were invented by the Romans, specifically the Flavians, in order to quell the messianic fervor of the Jewish Zealots, and also to dupe them into unknowingly worshipping Titus Flavious. I've only read two chapters so far, but I wanted to find out if any of you have read it, and to turn you on to it, if not.

You can find a summary and reviews here. It's really fascinating so far, and this author certainly seems to know what he's talking about!

Is there any connection between this book and the Abelard Reuchlin/Roman Piso brigade?

Unbeliever:

Why the identical post here and on the InfidelsGuy forums, especially when Vork just a few days ago started a thread with a link to his web-site?

Well, because I figure that each forum has different users, and I wanted as much knowledgable input on this as I could get. This whole subject of the origin of Christianity is very important to me. I've been trying for a long time to understand just exactly where and from whom it came from, and if this hypothesis is correct then I can quit looking. I was unaware of Vork's thread, so now that I know about it, I'll go check it out. Thanks.
