I read this book "Secrets of the Exodus: The Egyptian Origins of the Hebrew people" . . . . a couple months back. It was writen by Messod Sabbah and Roger Sabbah in 2000. The authors are brothers and study the Talmud and Torah, Roger being also an Egyptologist. In short, the book posits that the "Chosen People" were Egyptian citizens (not slaves) of the Egyptian Holy City of Akhet-Aten. . . During the reign of Akhenaten/Nefertiti circa 1350BC.

Has anyone read the book? And has there been any scholarly study of this besides the authors?
