Default Where in the bible, if anywhere, Does the Bible say it is the word of God?

The Bible, The Koran, The Book of Mormon, and other books are supposedly the word of God. Many other works are supposedly inspired by God, gods, god-like aliens from the Pleiades, etc. Why should I accept your favorite, and not one of the others?

Well, strictly speaking, the Bible isn't "the Word". It might be the word, in the sense that any inspired text is "the word of God". But it's not "the Word", because that's a theological term of art referring to the Logos, part of the Holy Trinity, also sometimes called Jesus.

In short, calling the Bible "God's Holy Word" is a big red flag of dangerously bad theology.

To answer your question in the title, many Christians interpret 2 Timothy 3:16 this way:
Quote:
All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

And this is the fundy core of bilical inerrancy. I know the "Way International" used this all the time when I had dealing with them.

Typical broken logic, although the scripture alluded to does answer the question being asked.

Just to illustrate how inept Atheists are at using reasoning, I direct you to Sven's response above.
"Many Christians interpret 2 Timothy 3:16 this way:..." As if there's any interpretation to 2Tim 3:16???

"Many physicists interpret e=MC^2 this way: E=MC^2."

Well, I know you're not very good at this stuff, but ill try and explain it to you.

Note the words "give by inspiration of" does not nescessarily translate to "god breathed". There are passages in the Quran that specifically indicate that the text of the Quran is the word of god and cannot be doubted. The closest thing the Bible comes to is inspired by, which in the minds of many theologians, introduces the possiblity that mere mortal men may have gotten some things wrong.

However, some whacko fundies seem to take the Muslim approach to the bible that it is the exact word of god, in spite of having no solid scriptural basis for such an opinion, and the fact that it runs strongly contrary to the mainstream.

I know you're new to this TBT, but give it time. Maybe you'll get it soon.

Uh, no, it's not circular. Feel free to show all the good people of this forum what part of that is circular.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know circular logic if it jumped up and bit you on the dick
