If you could have the text of one chapter...
If you could have the verifiable, ascertainable, indubitable original text of just one chapter of the New Testament, which chapter would that be and why?
(Yes, you may speak of a 'section' more generally if you wish--I know the chapters are not original divisions.) -- Peter Kirby |

Roughly in order of precedence:
1. Mark 16.1 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 2. John 20.30 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 3. Q 1.1 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. (Is that cheating? ) 4. Romans 14.23 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 5. Luke 24. 6. 2 Corinthians 6. 7. The second half of Acts. Ben. |

The beginning and end of Matthew. I'd love to dispel in one shot the arguments for Matthean priority, a non-Greek original, and that the autograph was attributed to an Apostle.
I'd love it even more if it gave us a big surprise on any of those three issues. |
