If you could have the verifiable, ascertainable, indubitable original text of just one chapter of the New Testament, which chapter would that be and why?
(Yes, you may speak of a 'section' more generally if you wish--I know the chapters are not original divisions.) -- Peter Kirby |

Roughly in order of precedence:
1. Mark 16.1 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 2. John 20.30 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 3. Q 1.1 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. (Is that cheating? ![]() 4. Romans 14.23 to the end of the book, wherever that might be. 5. Luke 24. 6. 2 Corinthians 6. 7. The second half of Acts. Ben. |

The beginning and end of Matthew. I'd love to dispel in one shot the arguments for Matthean priority, a non-Greek original, and that the autograph was attributed to an Apostle.
I'd love it even more if it gave us a big surprise on any of those three issues. |
