This is the Peanut Gallery for the debate between ShockofAtheism and Godless Raven.
Has Obama's first term been a success? The dabate is found here. This is where the rest of us can critique the debate. Grab your popcorn and sit back. ShockofAtheism and Godless Raven may not post in the peanut gallery until the debate is over. |

So far, the debate looks like it should be interesting. I look forward to reading it!

Given that he had to face unrelenting obstruction from a nihilistic Republican Party, he did pretty well. His mistake was in extending his hand to the Republican animals, who tried to bite it off at every opportunity.

What a bleeding waste of time for Godless Raven. I applaud their attempt though.
"Barack Obama is the worst President in modern times because he had endangered the economic viability of the nation. His economic policies have cost us trillions of dollars in debt and lost untold number of jobs since he first took office." Umm... it isn't untold. The economy lost 4 million jobs in W's last 1.5 years. It then lost 3.9 million jobs in Obama's first year. He has now added at least that many jobs since January 2010. "Approving the Keystone XL Pipeline should have been an easy approval for Obama. We can easily be self-sufficient in oil -- and the Keystone XL Pipeline would have made it much easier. Moreover, it wold have created many new jobs and would not have seriously hurt the environment." Energy production is at the highest levels in a decade right now. :banghead: If this is how the debate will be handled by one side, it'll be very poor. |

I'm not so sure this debate will be so much about the president's actual success. I think we are more likely to find out what the debaters' priorities are.

No... it'll be about an argument against a President that doesn't exist verses an argument about a President that actually exists. The actually problems with Obama will never be raised.

Mixed. The ban on embryonic stem cell research was lifted and DADT was repealed are some positive things that come to mind. People seem to forget those things when they claim Obama is right wing.
