Arrow Boycott of the BAS?

This is perhaps not directly pertinent to "Biblical Criticism & History", but it pertains most to participants on this forum:

While, as I've noted, I do not think a wholesale condemnation of Shanks is justified or apt, I do think the fact that he's supporting a known scumbag forger is reprehensible (as I've also noted.).

In the light of his most recent prattlings, and the fact that he continues to defend known scumbag forgers, I'd like to encourage present subscribers to either the Biblical Archaeology Review or the Bible Review to cancel their subscriptions until he quits. I've already done so. I'd urge those who don't subscribe not to purchase BAS publications.

Golan made a mockery of Near Eastern Archaeology at large. Shanks continues to allow him to do so.

As Silberman noted:

Quote:
The least any of us concerned with the future of archaeology can now do is to persistently and aggressively attack sensational claims about artifacts of dubious origin, not help to construct them, and to recognize how dangerous and ultimately, misleading, this modern form of relic worship can be.
Regards,
Rick
