The problem with Origen's works is that they were voluminous, enormously influential, but then became tangled up in the 'Origenist' disputes which kicked off ca. 400 and wound up with 'Origenism' being condemned under Justinian. Since some of those involved changed sides for political reasons (step forward Patriarch Theophilus of Alexandria), effectively he became the totem of the losing faction in a Byzantine political argument. (This means that his works did not get recopied as much as they might have). Consequently there is motive to omit material which is 'Origenist' while still preserving the valuable commentary material. Origen seems to me to be something of a special case in this regard.

Really, then why exclude the possibility of redactions for all kinds of theological purposes regarding 1 Corinthians 15:3-8? You aren't by any chance an inerrantist and/or a Calvinist, are you?
