Question What say you?

Ok, I hope this belongs in Evolution/Creation.
After reading genesis I have some questions.
1. Why did god create a woman for Adam? Wouldn’t a man be a better helper?
2. If man was created in god’s image, who’s image was Eve made in? I mean the parts are not the same. Where did female parts come from?
3. If Eve was made from Adam’s rib, wouldn’t he be making love to himself?
4. What kind of DNA, did Cain and Abe have?!?

There apparently was no sex until after they ate from the tree of knowledge, and where ran out of Eden by god. Maybe that’s why they have different parts, God knew that that would happen. If he did, why did he tempt them in the first place? If he didn’t know, then his not much of a god!

What say you?

I think BC&H is an appropriate home for this.

I don't know that it belongs in BCH either.

God did not create a woman for Adam. The writer(s) of genesis observed that there were men and women and concocted a story to explain the known facts. Besides, with a person of the opposite sex, Adam can produce other men.

The ancients who wrote the Bible didn't know a lot about anatomy. They thought of women as just slightly defective men. So Eve was made in God's image, but just missed the mark a little.

No. Think about it.

Inbred Homo sapiens, presumably.

You can make this point until you are blue in the face, and some people will still claim to be Christians and believe that God is Great.

God was created in man's image.

It was a translation error.

Several years ago I was traveling on business. Unusually I had no preparations to do for the next day so looking for something to occupy my time before sleep time, I picked up the Gideon bible left there. I thought that maybe I should start reading from the beginning to see what all the fuss was about. To me it read like a fairy tale and I still cannot fathom how anyone can think of this as historical.

Without this doctrine, fundies would lose their divine right to treat homosexuals like shit.

God had to create a woman because he knew they would get kicked out. And he had to be sure there would be a teenage girl he could molest 4000 years later, so that he could walk the earth himself and sacrifice himself to himself. Got it?

btw I like the name, it kind of confused me though, I looked quick and thought I was posting in my sleep or something.

1. If you hadn't noticed yet, women are a lot nicer than men. Most of them enjoy helping. And they are definitely a lot more caring.

2. God is a spirit. We have spirits. There's your image.

3. We're all made of molecules, are we making love to ourselves?

4. I assume human.

1. OK I agree.

2 that is your belief, not mine.

3. No, but my molecules are definately attracted to my wife's molecules. If you know what I mean! :devil3:

4. Making joke about #3.
