Default Bible the word of God?

Is there any bit in the bible that says "By the way, God personally told me to write this stuff."? It seems like it's a record of stories and myths that were orally passed on. Revelations seems like some guy tripping put on some hard mushrooms. Then there's songs and stuff. Why do people think the bible is the word of God?

This is why people think that the Bible is the Word of God...

2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is GodÂ_breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"

ALL Scripture is GodBREATHED. Meaning, He inspired all of it.

That is just one reason.......love

I wonder if, in that verse, Paul was referring to the actual marks he was making on the parchment at that particular moment? If so, why didn't he say "God is inspiring me"? If not, why do you consider it scripture?

And what's more, (this just occurred to me) if 2 Timothy 3:16 is in fact referring to itself, is it equivalent to the statement "This statement is true"? Is that statement true? What if it's false? Bible study is so mind expanding!

That Timothy is not a legitimate letter should not at all deter our enthusiasm. . . .

An inerrant infallible "word of God" seems to have been required by protestants who rejected the authority of the Roman Church. Thsdy had to have another authority to replace the Pope.

Of course, even if 2 Timothy was written by Paul and furthermore even if Paul was writing what Yahweh told him to...

The verse still says that All scripture is inspired by Yahweh with no indication of which documents are 'scripture' and which aren't scripture.

So it is still useless.

Still, I guess it does prove that the Book Of Mormon and the Quran are inspired by Yahweh as much as the Gospel Of John is - since it gives no criteria with which we can classify one of them as 'scripture' and not the others.

Since the Greek Scriptures were not yet canonized when "Timothy" was written, the author must have been referring to the Tanakh.

I believe OTOH, Ezekiel says he was told by YHWH himself to write down his visions. Of YHWH.

Talking The Bible Word of God!!!You cant be serious

It was not and its not and it will never be a word any supernatural being, why? because to start with, their IS NO such thing that exists. I think the first question should have been "Is there such stuff as a god?" Since the answer is obviously NO, that then confirms my worst fear ........... The Bible is just an historical book written by some idle minds over a long period.....oooook!
