Is anything made of the fact that Nun (the name of Joshua's father) is Aramaic for 'fish'?

Yes, it is commented on, in Leidner's book and elsewhere.

Somewhat related: is "nazer" Aramaic for carpenter, hewer-of-wood, that sort of thing?

Besides, where is it saying anything about jesus from the NT? These OT passages are just talking about having trust in god.
