A subforum is a great idea! Bring it on. Tomorrow: Mounce. Have we a target date?

For the benefit of those who may purchase the book used (and thus lack a CD), and those who are just following along without the book, Mounce also has lectures online all over the place (most, predictably enough, on his website). Most of them are for _Basics of Biblical Greek_ (should we move to that next, they'll be invaluable, I would imagine, though I worked solely through the CD, so can't comment with certainty), but that shouldn't prevent them from having application for Greek for the Rest of Us. For example, there is this lecture on pronunciation, and this on syllibification. Pronunciation, at least for me, was the easy part, once you get the hang of it--it's far harder to attempt to phonetically pronounce a challenging word in English than in Greek, because phonetic rules are much more stable. As an unrelated (at least unrelated to the remainder of my post) aside, there is an abundance of software for lexical aid available online (flash cards and the like), a collection of links to them might be helpful (though Goodacre has already collected the vast majority of them) as we progress. Regards, Rick Sumner |
