Of course you can, sugarhitman! Go fishing over it with nets after it has sunk into the sea!

The amusing bit to me here is that if Tyre had, in fact, sunk beneath the sea, apologists would use this explanation shamelessly to claim that both prophesies had been fulfilled.

It would be a fun exercise to list "unfulfilled prophesies" from the bible and list the various factors that could make each "come true."

Ditto. I think we've hit the "denying the obvious" stage here. Sugarhitman's statement is a perfect example of "cognitive dissonance".

Sugarhitman, why do you post here? Do you seriously think that you're going to convert anyone?

Wrong.
Ezekiel makes it clear that God's instrument of destruction to bring all this about was Nebuchadnezzar. It just never happened that way, that's all.

"Modern Tyre, a TOWN of some 6000 inhabitants, lies on the northern side of the peninsula, *while the ancient Phonecian city was situated on an island*....the ancient city had two harbors, the Sidonian to the north, and the egyptian to the south. The former is now choked with sand, and the latter has entirely dissapeared....This legend seems to imply that the island city of Tyre was settled from the mainland. The accounts of Old Tyre vary so widely that it is uncertain whether one or more places are meant, or whether sites are reffered to which belong to different periods....Ancient Tyre...ceased to be an island city....(after Alex seige)." Conclusion: Modern Tyre is not a rebuilt Phonecian city its rubble is no where to be found. The Phonecian kingdom is no more.

I suppose it all depends on how you interpret "you shall be built no more".
Gee I can’t see the “mainland a place for fishing which to this day has not been rebuilt” with all those office buildings and apartment houses in the way. Is that water park in the lower right where it hasn’t been rebuilt?

And oddly enough in the google satellite photo you can see the island, and the landfill making it a peninsula and the settled parts on the mainland extending both north and south. And if you look a the town of Tyre’s website they are quite proud of all the archeology.

History often repeats itself....Ages often end and begin with similier events that happened in previous ages.....but even this too has a final end as well as a final beginning.

God said that Tyre would become desolate when he brings the sea over it. But while it is a fishing city town village whatever, people would still inhabit the land of Ancient Tyre. But the Phonecians are gone...as well as The Queen of the Seas...Ancient Tyre including its rubble is long long gone.

Nope, your are dead wrong. The descendents of the Phoenicians are still there. You can zoom in on that satellite photo and see their cars and buses. And if you look at the link to their chamber of commerce website you will see the archeological site of ancient Tyre with walls still standing.
It isn’t a fishing village, you can see the downtown with it’s steel and glass office buildings in the photo.
