I'm back to the scrolls and their background, though if I get the day off and a connection I may be back to keep [insult edited] in check.

Trying to read your post with all those [insult edited] lines is like putting a jigaw puzzle together. At any rate, I find it humorous how you dismiss all scholarship yet fail to actually dialogue with them when invited to. Instead you offer a rant and dismissing insults.

I had fun writing it, Vinnie, so it wasn't rant. Dismissive insults? Dismissive, yes. If they are accurate they aren't insults, unless the truth is insulting.

I have dialogued with them (the umm "serious scholarship" ), found them hollow at the core, dismissive of evidence, prone to packaging popular opinion as fact, the furthest prepared to go being Griesbach, and I have moved to a more history enabled field, the Dead Sea Scrolls, a field in which I may rail against the lack of historical expertise of the reclaimers, but in which I also find a lot more scope for history.

But you run along and play with your unanchored relative chronology. It's anchored in your mind, just like the Jesus was gay idea. Too bad neither has anything to do with reality. It's understandable that you've never been able to present a case for your outrageous claims, happily thinking you can rest on the laurels of a millennium of opinions and apology.

Default Jesus in India

There is a start of a discussion about where Jesus went here!

The reviews of Martin Palmer the Jesus Sutras at Amazon are worth reading!

I had no idea that my simple question would spawn all of this.

Thank you all for replying.

One of those cultures was the most powerful and advanced civilization in the world--Tang China--but which was also steeped in a retro-shamanic faith known as Taoism.
Retro-shamanic? Sounds like the latest fashion craze in LA.

While bearing clear resemblance to traditional Christianity, differences, and what one may call advances, are also apparent--for instance, original sin becomes the goodness of original nature.
I think I like the retro part.

But other reviews downgrade the historical accuracy. Maybe Vork can comment.

The old adage I learned while reading some physics material:

If you ask a stupid question you may feel stupid but if you don't ask a stupid question you remain stupid.
