They also pretty much stated the statistical likelihood of these codes being "random" was astronomical. There were a few refutations from skeptics, kind of at the end of the program after they had already pretty much stated that "Scientific American" agreed the evidence for the authenticity of the codes was overwhelming.
Oddly, the "codes" predict a comet hitting the earth in 2012 (wasn't this Mayan in origin??) And, it they also predicted a middle-eastern peace agreement would be signed by Palestine and Isreal (with UN and Bush all looking on fondly) and the establishment of a Palestinian soverign state in the fall of 2003. Oops!
I tend to feel this is finding "evidence" based on the "evidence" one is looking to find.

That's why when it comes to anything with any religious (especially Xtian or Judaic) content, or supernatural content, the "History Channel" becomes the
Mythtery Channel. I have come to believe that Disney & Co (the owners of the History Channel) are airing these apologetics so they'll have something to point to when the fundies start threatening them over homosexuals at their theme parks; or maybe it's more like a peace offering to the fundies. At any rate, there's little "history" in any of them.
