The different pieces from which the torah was built in an act of redaction may have been really different and never intended to get together. However the torah redactors consumed these pieces THEMATICALLY (not literally) into the torah. This is even the pov of theologers. They know that events happen in the torah before they can, f.e. ismael is a baby again just after he has been 14 years. or the arc of the covenant is used before it is built and such. this happens because its extremely patchwork. cut a newspapers in three-inch-pieces and build from them a new page. this is torah. no text has been used word by word over a greater distance than some two or three paragraphs. but a lot of texts have been used by essence/names/locations/theme.

The torah is not a collection of texts but something new written FROM SCRATCH, based on older texts/storys. i see no problem with that and how this could affect my findings.

Adora, what do you want to bet that his answer will be the stock 'obsessed fanboy' response? He seems to have some grasp of what the word usually means but he clearly doesn't understand it in the context he is trying to use it in.
