Just kidding. Out of curiosity, have you ever been a member of the SBL, or ever attended one of the annual meetings?

Ben.
Mr Smith, are you, or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?

Yuri.

Fair enough. (The answer to your question is no, I have never been, nor am I now, a member of the Communist Party, though late in high school I was briefly tempted to join just to be rebellious.)

Mr. Smith.

I enjoyed Ted Weeden's paper on Kenneth Bailey, another presentation on the developing opentext.org website, a presentation on SOMs (self-organizing maps), and a few others. I look forward to getting a copy of Katherine Smith's paper. I didn't take notes as I had anticipated; I guess you just had to be there.

best,
Peter Kirby

I would have enjoyed that one, too. In NT scholarship, a game usually dominated by bunts and singles (id est, necessarily subtle arguments), it is nice to occasionally see one hit clean out of the park, and it sounds to me like that is just what Weeden did.

Ben.
