you're the one bringing a knife to a gunfight diogenes.....atheism is about 3%. Evidence is decided by the jury and the jury decides against you. and you are utterly wrong, circumstantial evidence is admissible under the state and federal rules of evidence in all courts in the U.S. Physician heal thine own "lameness"!

Appeals to the majority are lame.

unless the majority is right, then the argument isnt lame at all, the argument is the majority view, even among Bible scholars. Genrally accepted hsitorian consensus is a perfectly valid argument.

OK mata - you have your own thread. Make an argument that a Christian run hospital in the year 2006 is evidence of a first century crucified Jewish wandering preacher in the first half of the first century.

Consider these points: Would a secular hospital disprove the existence of a historical Jesus? Would a Jewish hospital disprove the existence of a historial Jesus? (The Jews in the first century met Jesus and weren't converted.)

NO TOTO, Diogenes gave me an "OFFICIAL WARNING" for making the very basic and intuitive argument that there is a possible linkage between the gospel Jesus, the early church founded in his name and the church as it ocntinues to today. Then YOU, toto, split this off, on your own might add to try to get rid of my argument. IT is NOT OFF TOPIC! and i intend to go back and argue it where it belongs. dont push me around. you are clearly in the wrong toto and diogenes.

Sorry, mata, no one else thinks that Christian hospitals prove the existence of Jesus. Your argument was considered so out of the ordinary that it threatened to hijack the thread.

Please keep your posts on that train of thought in this thread. Anything you post in the other thread will be split and moved here.

Get used to it! atheists have lost.
I have to say that I am glad there are theists on this sight but I have to admit some are a "little out there!"
I didn't realize that we were playing a game! Now that I know we are I concede to the fact that we are currently losing in the jostle for the hearts and minds of men and women. But as long as there are humans, there will be superstition, myth, and false hopes.
Billions worship jesus because of many reasons. Some do it because of tradition. Some because their parents worship. Some do it for money and political power. And some do it out of the truthfulness of their hearts.
The power behind christianity that you wrote of was actually more of the "lengthened shadow" of Constantines Sword than a "historic jesus."
The little good christians do with their hospitals and orphanages pales in comparison to the money the christian leaders rake in the names of these orginizations, the child abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, unnecessary death, wars, anti women policies, etc.
This is the true face of christianity. Sad indeed!

It isnt "a game" to the poor children when you see the smiles on their faces as they move into their first house! shame on you my friend, shame on you!

Is it alright if I answer your post? I don't want to work you up into a rage at me, so I'll take it slowly.

If everyone believes something, does that make it true?

Please don't get angry at me for asking that question, but I would like a response.

Thank you in advance for your reply.
