The corporate personality
I was surprised to learn that many people here have not heard of the use of the corporate personality in the Bible.
In basic terms some "people" such as Adam in the Bible are actually groups or tribes of people and the Bible interchanges the term when using allegory. Adam and Eve were corporate personalities and the Genesis story is the story of these two groups of people combining thier resources and "inventing" farming. This was the original sin. Any takers? |

I have read things that embody this concept, but I didn't know that there was a name for it. Do you have some references?

Israel
Israel is probably the best example as both a person and a nation. It's mainly an Old Testament phenom. Genesis has multiple examples. This explains 800 year old men.
