Question Writings by Mohammed as proof of his existence split from Why do all religions ignore

As there's little convincing evidence that Jesus/Yeshua/Jeebus ever existed in the first place, why shouldn't everyone ignore what he didn't say anyway?

Same thing goes for Mohammed. No proof of existence, plenty of reason to doubt that he didn't just make it up as he went along (like every other fraud hiding behind religion in order to better his lot in life). Lots of reason to just ignore it all entirely...

You might want to check the messages he sent to other rulers. They still exist.

OK, I see a document written in Arabic.
(No details in English anywhere.)

What is the evidence that this was written by Mohamed?

There may be more to it, but it is at least signed "Muhammad, prophet of Allah"

The Islamic people consider themselves the descendants of Ishmael
Nope. Only some of the Arabs (not all) are descendants of Ishmael.

That's interesting; I didn't realize that. Could you please let me know what part of the Arab nations (or religious sects) don't consider themselves the descendants of Ishmael? And do those Arabic people consider themselves devotees of the OT god?

Salam -

I am still waiting for evidence of writings by Mohamed.

Where is the evidence your posted document was written by Mohamed?

(Thanks for split, it's an interesting subject - there is a minority view that Mohamed is a myth too.)

There is reference to letters from Mohammed in this wiki article, which is prominently labeled "This article or section may contain original research or unverified claims."

The particular letter reference above seems to be discussed in this section, and there is some discussion of other letters. Muslim scholars tend to find them authentic.

I was under the impression that Mohammed was not literate, which is why he called on others to take dictation from him.
