How Darwin wrote Origins and BCH
Darwin corresponded over the planet using snail mail for decades asking questions, collecting information, checking his thinking.
We are in a very privileged position because we can collect the data and argue about it reasonably easily. The Jesus myth essay competition can be understood as a way to collate and summarise the issues. Do we need to formalise the incredible riches that are here? A form of wiki or open source project? Use the essay as a stepping stone to something much larger and all encompassing? A whole chunk of argumentation that is consistently missing is around the psychology, sociology and anthropology of religion. |

I would really support the idea of a freeratio wiki. There is a lot of knowledge, data and good solid reasoning on this board but it is fragmented and often difficult to find.
A wiki that concentrates on the often used facts, pratts, the smart arguments (from all sides). The specialists can help to write certain wikis on things they know about, or others can collect the wise writings from these specialists and turn them into a wiki. Users with specific a hobby horse (you know who I mean) can for once and for all set out their POV, arguments and data. I can see it work. |
