IIDB/Modern Skeptics and Biblical Evolution
Several new versions of the christian bible have, in the recent past, began the arduous task of editing out or modifying a variety of topics that make the "message" inconsistent, socially unacceptable, or less identifiable with obviously fantastical creatures (dragons and the like).
It is not difficult to project that new revisions of the bible will continue this trend. Debates that take place here and all over the net between skeptics and theists may well provide future editors and "translators" an effective means of identifying troubling areas of the biblical message. The internet knowledgebase and our participation in it, in all probability, will contribute to improving the baseline meme complex of christianity, and its ability to parasitize and propagate. Or not? (color me paranoid) |
